Once you reach Meribel - keep going straight and if in doubt keep to the right - you will pass below Meribel with nearly all of Meribel on your left - as you leave Meribel you will go through a short tunnel. It is then 3 km on up the mountain to Mottaret.
At the entrance to Mottaret keep left at the mini-roundabout and go through a tunnel (If you accidentally turn right you will ahead uphill towards Le Hameau.) The tunnel is three short sections – the first under the pistes, the second is under the Mont Vallon hotel – and then a third short section. This takes you to the Le Chateletpart of Mottaret. In the dark it can seem like one long tunnel. At the end of the short section of tunnels you will arrive at a small roundabout with three/four free car parking spaces in the roundabout. The first exit takes you into the (free) car park– park here or continue round the roundabout and park outside Huti-a-huit supermarket which should be in front of you.
Coming by bus or taxi
If coming by bus/taxi ask to be dropped off at the bus stop outside Huit-a-huit - in Le Chatelet
(sometimes the drivers know this stop as "Pierre et Vacances").
Having parked go up the metal steps on the left of Huit-a-Huit supermarket (or the path up to the right).
Continue along the walkway with a couple of shops on your right:
Intersport ski hire shop
Ski Shop Mottaret
Funicular lift up to Tueda and Les Crets
La Brizolee restaurant and then the
Entrance to Olympie I. It has a glass door.
(After Olympie you have: Boutique gift shop, Zig Zag bar, Le Rastro (Pub / Restaurant), La Belle Savoie (cafe / restaurant), Entrance to Le Pralin, Superski ski hire shop (accessed also from within reception area of Le Pralin), Mont Vallon Hotel ~ Then the central ski area and ski lifts.
In the entrance hall there is a bank a letter boxes.
The letter box for apartment 2 has two key safes at the back. The left hand key safe has code (ask by WhatsApp) and has the keys for apartment 2. There is a second set of keys in the apartment - these should be on a hook on the post on the right hand side of the kitchen. Please put the keys back at the end of your trip.
There is no formal check-in but the apartment will be ready no later than 4pm on Saturday. If the apartment is ready before this time then you may occupy the apartment earlier on the Saturday.
Check you can find the ski-box key on hook at chest height on the wall in the kitchen area. Please call me immediately if it is not to be found. The ski box is in the basement- this room is not locked.
The ski boxes are not really big enough to hold four sets of boots as well as skis, so you can leave boots in the apartment but please take dirty shoes/boots off before going into the apartment. Please do not bring skis into the apartments – they leave rust stains at the bottom of the skis where snow melts and runs down the skis. Please note that skis should be insured, as the ski boxes are not totally secure.
The electricity should be on. If it is off then the electricity box is on the wall behind the door at head height. It is behind the mirror behind the door – just pull the side of the mirror. The grey plastic cover swings like a door Inside the box there is a twist switch.
The Wifi network is called 'zewifi' and the pass code is 'deadbeef11'
Turn the handle 180degress so it points vertically down. This lifts the door and it is then possible to slide open the door. Please do not try to open the door by pulling on the bottom of the handle or whilst the handle is not exactly vertically down.
The building has a centrally controlled underfloor heating system. If there is a sudden drop in temperature then the apartment heaters may be needed. These have an on/off switch and a temperature thermostat dial on them. There is also a free standing electric radiator in the apartment.
The bedroom has a double bed and a duvet. The bunks each have a single duvet. As per the terms and conditions you must bring your own sheets and towels. Please email if you would like to hire linen which may be possible.
