Ski Pass

This page has been produced from information publicised by the Meribel tourist office and is independent from the tourist office or SPTV the lift operator.  It is not possible to buy ski passes through this site.

The ski pass company is SPTV ~ they have a website at  www.s3v.com  where one can check prices and other info.
This page contains a summary of useful informaiton.

How to buy your lift pass

If you are staying in Meribel-Mottaret:  Buy your lift pass from one of the kiosks in the Tourist Office building.  This is located by the central piste area (it is marked with a T on the map).

The tourist office is open from 8:30am until 7:00pm each day. The ski-pass kiosks are open from about 8:40am (20 minutes before the lifts open) until 4:50pm.
Ski-pass kiosks are open until 6:30pm on Saturdays.

It is not necessary to book in advance and in fact it is advisable to purchase one's pass on the morning of the first day's skiing in case one is unable to ski for any reason.  [However if you do want to purchase a pass in advance then visit www.s3v.com.  They will post your new pass to you or you can collect it from the tourist office.]

The new "P@S" lift pass

The Three Valleys has moved to a new type of lift pass.  No photo is required and instead one is given an electronic card.  The card is kept in one's left breast pocket of one's ski jacket.  At each lift there is a detector on the left side of a turnstyle which detects the skipass and allows one to pass through the gate.  It is undoubtedly more convenient and quicker than the old photo  card system.

Other benefits of the card are that it can be reused by updating it on-line at www.s3v.com.

Also, provided one keeps the receipt, if you one loses one's skipass card then on presentation of the receipt a new card can be issued.  This will however cost 10euros plus a charge for an extra day.

Season pass.  A season pass is priced as roughly equivalent to five weeks skiing.  Again it requires a photo.  The season pass also gives access to the lifts in the summer.

Family pass.  For over 6 days it is possible to buy a family pass for two adults and two children.  The children must be under 18 years old.  This is a discount of approximately 8.5% to the full price of two adults and two children under 13 or 20% if your children are over 13 years old.

Early season.  The lifts generally open in the second week of December.  For the first week the price of a pass is approxiamtely two thirds of a normal pass, ie one third off.

Late season.  With snow depths particularly deep in recent years at the end of the season this is an attractive proposition.  For the last week of the season (22nd April to 1st May) the ski passes are approximately 22% less than the full prices.

Ski areas and Prices

Visit the piste map page to see the ski area available.

Ski another resort for free....

The (6 day minimum) 3 valley ski-pass includes one day (during its validity) to ski in Espace Killy (Val d’Isère and Tignes), or La Plagne - Peisey Vallandry - Les Arcs, Pralognan la Vanoise and Les Saisies, free of any additional charge [Note it does not include Valmorel].  So if you have a car and want to try another resort this is an excellent option.
